Leisure Sport
Leisure Sport is an indie rock band from Baltimore, Maryland. The members - Dana DiGennaro (vocals/guitar), Kyle Balkin (vocals/guitar), Cameron Thomas (bass) and Michael Habif (drums) - bonded through a love of bands as diverse as Pinegrove, Thundercat, and Daughters. After spending most of 2018 honing a sound they could call their own, the band landed their first show opening for Dark Thoughts to a sold out crowd.
On Title Card, their 2021 debut EP produced by Chris Freeland (Future Islands, Wye Oak, Lower Dens), Leisure Sport offers listeners graceful vocal harmonies, layered guitar melodies, and intricate rhythms. The album blends the distinct song writing talents of DiGennaro and Balkin to create immersive songs that are equal parts driving and melancholy. The five tracks explore breakups, one night stands, and finding inspiration in unexpected places.
