Asheville garage rock troopers Fashion Bath officially return this Friday, July 12th with new LP Domestic Bliss — but we’ve got a sneak peek from the album, now streaming below. Drenched in summer sweat and scorching guitar riffs, “Over It” kicks off at a blistering pace that finally screeches to a halt after a hot and sticky three-minute ride.

Says the band about the track: "“It’s a self-deprecating take on the process of getting older and realizing that we may not have turned out the way that our mom's had hoped. It's a fun song about feeling bad."

Fashion Bath shared the video for previous single “Benoit” back in May, and they’ll be celebrating the release of Domestic Bliss by performing at Fleetwood’s in Asheville next weekend (RSVP here).

Kid Trails Gets Nostalgic on New Single "Friendships Fade"

Columbia outfit Kid Trails has a knack for putting a Southern twist on psychedelic rock. Fronted by Toro y Moi bassist Patrick Jeffords, new single “Friendships Fade” creates a hazy indie daydream that dwells on companionships that aren’t quite what they used to be.

Says Jeffords on the track: “The main inspiration for the song came from visiting friends in another town and realizing that the strong bonds we had when we were in each other’s lives fade over time.  On the flip side, they might even get stronger and more meaningful in our minds if we are looking at the past through rose colored glasses.”

Stream the new single below (which also features Toro y Moi drummer Andy Woodward and Columbia musician Desirée Richardson of Pandercakes), and find Kid Trails this weekend at Eighth State Brewing Company in downtown Greenville, South Carolina.

Brother Oliver and Barry McGunthrie Jr. Get Rowdy with New Video + Live Show

Psychedelic folk rock outfit Brother Oliver and southern sensation Barry McGunthrie Jr. have a few tricks up their sleeves.

The combo recently joined forces over hilarious country comedy single “My Pastor Bought a Brand New Sports Car” — a satirical take about a preacher getting caught redhanded with the church offering plate — and now they’re getting together to perform this Friday night in Greenville, South Carolina.

“The whole project was a break from the norm and a chance to make something fun, but also very meaningful to us”, says Andrew Oliver of Brother Oliver. “We recorded the song together and couldn’t stop playing it back over and over and over. We felt like we had something that people could really connect with.”

Oliver adds that Joey Thompson (aka Barry McGunthrie Jr.) had “a grand vision for the video, which was gonna require like 6 days of shooting, multiple hired actors, and multiple locations. I felt like there was no way we were going to pull it off in the window of time that we had. Lo and behold, Joey was a mad man of a director and everything came together and we were able to shoot it exactly how he envisioned.“

Check out “My Pastor Bought A Brand New Sports Car” below, and grab tickets now for tomorrow night’s show at The Radio Room.
