Nightlights, the debut album from Atlanta band Secret Towns, is a constellation of dream pop and ambient post-punk songs orbiting a nocturnal psychedelic sound. Recalling endless suburban nights, it tells a story of ever escaping moments from the past and present — from the excitement of potential times ahead to the mornings after.
Inspired by a formative period of young adult malaise from guitarist Luke Thornton, he’s joined by bassist Sam Pena, and drummer Harry Dulaney. Nightlights was produced by Damon Moon at Standard Electric Recorders Co. with additional production and mixing by Ben Etter (Franz Ferdinand, Deerhunter, Cut Copy).
