Born in Toronto but raised in the suburbs of Brampton, Skip Waiters found his joy in being able to create music reflecting his experiences growing up in the inner city. Looking to find his individuality, he taught himself how to produce, write, and eventually create his own sound through the love of visual arts and storytelling through music.
With a unique sound, Skip Waiters has been described as a blend of artists such as Kendrick Lamar with his wide range of flows; Tyler the Creator, with his unorthodox production ability; as well as Pharrell’s genre fusion approach to making songs.
Continuing to develop as a producer, Skip Waiters has scored projects for creatives such as 4YallEnt and By Pseudonym that have been featured in i-D Magazine — but now he begins his own journey as an artist. Releasing two demo tracks in 2019, followed by another demo track released in 2020, Skip Waiters has gained a growing following and audience through both Instagram and SoundCloud, while also receiving praise from Montreality, Waveland, and Buzzfeed during the last two years.
