Atlanta-based math rockers Art Contest are set to release their first new album tomorrow in over three years — but you can get an early listen now thanks to Brightest Young Things.
An earthquaking, indie pop frenzy with seismic waves of mischief and charisma, the record’s singles previously premiered via New Noise Magazine and BTRtoday.
After the band’s 2017 sophomore LP Two Songs gained attention from Stereogum, GoldFlakePaint and BalconyTV, founding Art Contest member Garrett Burke departed to become the drummer of rising intrastate outfit Mothers — leaving frontman Cole Monroe at a crossroads.
Rather than staying put, he decided to graduate from the college scene of Athens and head for the brighter lights of Atlanta. Monroe continued making changes by growing the lineup that was once a duo into a full-fledged four-piece for the band’s third album Fit Pitcher — out this Friday via Sludge Country.
